I first saw Dr. John Taylor present around the year 1993. Like myself, he had taught at a university and also had a lot of clinical experience, so I liked his balanced approach. When I saw him around 1993, he indicated that he had found nothing natural that helped with ADHD. So when I saw that he was presenting again in my area around 2017, I wanted to see what he had learned since 1993 that might help me and my clients. In 2017 he spent over an hour on non-prescription treatments for ADHD. It really got my attention when he said he “required” all of his clients to take a blue-green algae that grows in Klamath Lake Oregon. He said the missing link in understanding and treating ADHD was brain detoxification and this algae did just that.
At the time, I was suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s. My mother had died of Alzheimer’s and I wasn’t looking forward to that eventuality. Mine had advanced to the point that I had to call my wife and ask directions to the grocery store we’d been going to for years, only a couple of turns from our house. My fishing buddy refused to fish with me anymore. He said he just couldn’t stand watching me go downhill any further. I was making preparations to close my private practice. Before telling my clients about it, I wanted to try it myself. So, I bought some BrainOn and started taking three capsules with breakfast and two with lunch. As brain detoxification is the primary issue in Alzheimer patients, maybe BrainOn would help me. It did, and not just a little. In six months I was back to normal. I dove into the medical literature to see if anyone else had found that it helped with Alzheimer’s and indeed there were already studies demonstrating its efficacy, and not just for Alzheimer’s but I also found it could help with a lot of different bodily issues. Using the Test of Variables of Attention, a computer-administered continuous performance test that actually measures attention, I found that fully a third of my ADHD clients made dramatic improvements on BrainOn, while another third had improvement but less dramatic, and another third showed no improvement, though, a higher dose might have helped that third group. As I am not licensed to tell people to take supplements, etc., I could not tell them to try increasing the dose. I got the BrainOn organization to agree to give my clients a discount when they order from my web page.
Another supplement that has been empirically shown to benefit all sorts of mental health issues is Omega-3. Fish oil is, I am told, the most popular supplement in the U.S. Unfortunately, almost all of us have opened a bottle of fish oil supplements, and been repulsed by the foul odor of dead fish. The first improvement was when a couple of companies started cold processing the oil on the ships as soon as the fish were caught, and kept it refrigerated right to the refrigerator in the health food stores.
The next step took place when people acknowledged that fish, being at the top of the food chain were no doubt concentrating toxins such that there was probably some heavy metals and/or other toxins in fish oil. Working their way down the food chain, researchers discovered that the fish were getting their Omega-3 from the shrimp-like plankton, krill. So, several years ago, Krill Oil came online. The Krill, being further down the food chain would have fewer toxins.
Then, more recently, it was found that krill got their Omega-3 from a blue-green marine algae they were eating. That algae was isolated and is now being raised in tanks in the U.S. The Omega-3 extracted from this marine algae is the purest form that’s ever been available, with no toxins and no fishy smell whatsoever, and it is far more potent than the earlier formulations. I buy it from Amandean and so can you by clicking on their link on this page. You can also do your own shopping and find other sources for these two algae though I’m not so sure it’s as good as these two products.
I suggest that when people first get their BrainOn that they wait until they’re very tired, with brain fog, and they’ve got a lot of meticulous work that just has to be done. Then, if they want, they can take a couple of capsules. In thirty minutes, it makes me feel like I’ve just had a shower and a nap. It’s not a nervous jittery feeling like caffeine as it is a brain detoxifier and nourishing agent.
Both products offer a full refund if you’re not satisfied. BrainOn comes in a few different forms. I prefer the capsules.
